| My name is Derek Andrew Chen. I was born and raised in Toronto, ontario, Canada. I have always been a fan of photography even taking a few courses back in high school. Having worked at a number of different automotive magazines, I was finally given the opportunity to get my hands into it and progressively begin developing my own style. My start as a photographer began mainly in the automotive world where auto shows, motorsport events, and feature vehicles were my specialty. It was very soon after that I had began shooting glamour with models within the ever-popular import scene. Having a great deal to do with them through the magazines, I continued (and am still in the process) of building my portfolio to expand my experience into new styles of photography and the subjects (models) themselves. In 2006, my best friend and I started our own studio known as Studio13 Photography + Design. We have been very successful in gaining the respect of our peers and the attention of models everywhere. We hope to work with you so don't hesitate to shoot us a message with your idea for a shoot. We are currently working with 3 automotive publications and 1 lifestyle publication.
